The Karuk Tribe requests proposals for the design of landscaping and common areas that cater to

individuals of various ages and supports outdoor play and recreation. This project aims to create

a safe, engaging, and accessible recreational area for workforce housing residents and shall be

installed near Hillside Road (Astiip Road), Happy Camp, CA 96039. The landscaping and

common area is part of a workforce housing development “Skyline” currently under

construction.

The project will include, but is not limited to the following elements:

‍Play Structures: Age-appropriate play structures for varied age groups. Installation of

separate play areas for younger (ages 2-5) and older children (ages 6-12). Equipment

must meet all safety standards and regulations.

‍Sod Surface: Installation of a safe and sustainable sod surface. Installation of sod around

the homes and playground area to enhance aesthetics and safety. Integration of natural

elements to promote outdoor play and learning.

‍Water System: A sprinkler or water play system for maintaining landscaping.

‍Garbage Cans: Strategically placed to encourage cleanliness.

‍Lighting: Adequate lighting for safety and usability during evening hours.

‍Amenities: Design and installation of a BBQ area with appropriate safety measures.

Construction of a gazebo to provide shaded seating for families. Benches and Tables:

seating for families and caregivers.

‍Fencing: Secure fencing to ensure the safety of children.

‍Disabled Access: Compliance with ADA standards to ensure accessibility for all.

‍Landscaping for yards: Pet Area.
