Tribal Council

About the Karuk Tribal Council

The mission of the Karuk Tribal Council is to promote the general welfare of all Karuk people, to establish equality and justice for our tribe, to restore and preserve Tribal traditions, customs, language and ancestral rights, and to secure to ourselves and our descendants the power to exercise the inherent rights of self governance.

Meetings

The Karuk Tribe holds regular monthly Council and Health Board meetings at its chambers in Yreka, Happy Camp, and Orleans—open to the public and streamed live online. Community members may watch online and can submit an agenda-request form in advance to present at any meeting.

Tribal Council Meetings

Council meetings cover non-health tribal services, from natural resources to tribal court.

Health Board Meetings

Health Board meetings oversee medical, dental, and behavioral health services.

Tribal Council Members

Tribal council members are instrumental in shaping policies and ensuring the welfare of our community.
