Student Rent Voucher Program

The Student Rent Voucher Program provides rental assistance to income-eligible Karuk Tribal Members and Descendants enrolled full-time in college or vocational school.

About the Program

The Karuk Tribe Housing Authority (KTHA) Student Rent Voucher (SRV) Program provides rental assistance to income eligible, Enrolled Karuk Tribal Members, attending college or vocational school full-time (12 units). Assistance is based on the household’s total income for a 10-month period (August-May), or a school year maximum (currently $10,000 but subject to change), whichever comes first. Please keep in mind, students may be responsible for their first month rent if there are delays in submitting documentation.

Applications are due by July 31 and students must re-apply each school year.  Students who do not meet the July 31 deadline, may still apply for partial school-year assistance. If you are eligible, assistance will begin the first of the month following the date your application is complete and approved by the KTHA Board of Commissioners, based on availability of funds, so please apply as early as possible.
