Covid-19 Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF)

The Karuk Tribe Housing Authority (KTHA) is pleased to announce that the Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF) Program is now available to assist income eligible homeowners who are experiencing financial hardships (including delinquencies) and were impacted by the Covid-19 Pandemic with mortgage, utility, insurance, property tax, and other related expenses for their primary residence.

‍Applications will be processed in the order they are received and the program will end 9/30/2026 or when funds are exhausted, whichever comes first.

Requirements:Must have at least one household member who is an Enrolled Karuk Tribal Member or Descendant;Must be a Homeowner requesting assistance for their Primary Residence;Must have one or more household members who experienced financial hardship due to the Covid-19 pandemic; ANDMust have a household income that is equal to, or less than, 150% of the Area Median Income, or 100% of the Median Income for the United States, whichever is greater, available at https://www.huduser.gov/portal/datasets/haf-il.htmlDepending on the assistance requested, applicants will need to be prepared to submit the following with their application to speed up processing time:  Verification of homeownership such a recorded Deed, Karuk Tribe Member/Descendant enrollment status, verification of income for all adults in the household, utility bills, mortgage statement, insurance statement, property tax bill, etc.
