Traditional Cultural Practitioner
Karuk Tribe Housing Authority is looking for one (1) qualified Cultural Practitioner from each service area (Yreka, Happy Camp and Orleans) to lead participants through the full process of making a traditional dentalium bib.
The Karuk Tribe Housing Authority invites qualified Traditional Cultural Practitioners to submit qualifications for consideration to lead participants through the full process of making a traditional dentalium bib. Up to three (3) contractors may be selected. One practitioner assigned to each of our three service areas (Happy Camp, Yreka, and Orleans) to provide independent professional services. Only one practitioner will be selected per service area. Selected practitioners will deliver specialized cultural bib making sessions to guide local families and youth in traditional (dentalium) bib making within their assigned community. This project supports our community in maintaining strong cultural learning, traditional values, and professional development.
