Summary

Responsible for assisting with preparation of end of the month journal entries, preparing spreadsheets used in casino analysis, assist in preparing for end of month financials and end of year financial audits.  Function as Payroll and Accounts Payable backup.

Responsibilities

1.Ensure that general ledger coding is correct on all invoices, making corrections when necessary.

2.Maintain the Title 31 and deposit account spreadsheets for end of month reconciliation.

3.Maintain food and beverage journal entries.

4.Prepare and maintain accrual journal entries.

5.Prepare and maintain prepaid journal entries and audit schedules.

6.Provide general ledger details to Directors for their budget variances when requested.

7.Prepare allocation of expenses between departments.

8.Verify accuracy of transactions that have been entered.

9.Maintain and record fixed asset records to ensure accuracy and completeness.

10.Prepare trial balance.

11.Assist with the month-end and year-end close process, including preparation of journal entries,reconciliations, and financial reports.

12.Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and internal reporting packages.

13.Analyze budgets and other financial information.

14.Ensure that generally accepted accounting principles are applied to all journal entries.

15.Provide information about proper accounting treatment of general ledger entries.

16.Maintain confidentiality over all finance and personnel information.

17.Attend mandatory and non-mandatory training, meetings and briefings.

18.Maintain appearance standards as outlined in Rain Rock Casino’s Team Member Handbook.

19. Provide information to our guests about current marketing promotions, property amenities and our Players Club.

20. Provide courteous service to our guests.

Requirements

1. Must be at least 21 years of age.

2. Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or 4 years of full accounting cycle experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger journal entries, payroll, financial audit preparation.

3. Working knowledge of Sage 100, Fixed Assets for Sage, Excel, payroll processing provider, and time clocks software, and casino gaming software.

4. Perform calculations with Excel using accounting standards, including discounts, interest, fractions, proportions, and expense allocations.

5. Ability to work and perform tasks independently.

6. In-depth knowledge of the journal entries needed for a full accounting cycle.

7. Understand the balance sheet accounts and standard accounting equation.

8. Accurately type 45 wpm and proficient with ten-key calculator.

9. Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

10. Highly self-motivated and directed.

11. Keen attention to detail.

12. Demonstrate analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.

13. Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as the event calendar requires.

14. Effectively communicate orally and in writing. Ability to audit proof work.

15. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

16. Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

17. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable by the RRC’s insurance carrier.

18. Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required.

19. Must be able to obtain an approved Tribal Gaming License and must maintain good standing as required for this position.

21. Must successfully pass a drug screening test and criminal background check.
