IHS Support

Through our partnership with the Indian Health Service (IHS), the Tribe receives support for facility management and construction projects that keep our health and dental clinics operational. This includes:

Septic Systems & Utilities
– Installation, upgrades, and maintenance to ensure safe and reliable water and wastewater systems at IHS-supported clinics.

Facility Repairs & Renovations – Improvements to clinic buildings, dental offices, and support facilities to extend their lifespan and maintain high standards of safety. Construction Support – Assistance with new construction projects or major expansions tied to health facilities, ensuring they meet Tribal and community needs.

Public Works Coordination
– Working with Tribal Public Works teams to ensure infrastructure like roads, parking, and access routes—meets the demands of healthcare facilities. This approach ensures that IHS resources contribute directly to the infrastructure side of healthcare delivery, while the Tribe maintains sovereignty over how facilities are managed and improved.

Construction Projects

The Karuk Tribe invests in construction projects that strengthen our communities, improve quality of life, and support future growth. These efforts ensure that Tribal members, employees, and visitors have access to safe, reliable, and modern infrastructure.

Recent and ongoing projects include the Skyline Workforce Housing development, which provides much-needed housing opportunities for Tribal members and employees; the installation and improvement of a bus stops to increase transportation access and safety; and a range of general improvements to community facilities, public spaces, and essential infrastructure.
