The Karuk Tribe requests proposals from a qualified and experienced independent consulting firm to conduct a Market and Feasibility study on a prospective Gas Station in Happy Camp, CA. The reports should focus on the area of Happy Camp, CA.
Happy Camp, CA, is an unincorporated community in Siskiyou County, located approximately an hour and a half west of I-5 and Yreka, CA. Happy Camp is situated on HW 96, with the Klamath River running directly through the community. The area is very rural and has seen a decline in population and economic activity due to job loss from the timber industry exiting the area and recent wildfires.
The Karuk Tribe is seeking a capable firm to perform the development of a feasibility study that would explore the possibility of a new gas station in the community of Happy Camp. The study should focus on the feasibility of the gas station itself, and a convenience store attached. The study must identify key constraints, design limitations, potential permits, entitlements, and economic impacts. It must also propose a design and method to address concerns, along with cost estimates of the build, and to overcome any discovered restraints.
The Tribe is also seeking the study to include conceptual site plans. This would include possible locations where the project could be built, and possible design layouts and key features.
A market assessment is requested as well. The assessment will explore the current market in the area and the likelihood of a new gas station being successful. The current competition should be identified. A projection of pro forma financial should also be supplied to identify profitability and future outcome probability.
Responses to this Request for Proposals should include the following:
1) A statement of qualifications, including relevant project history.
2) A proposed approach and rationale for completion of the contract tasks described above, including descriptions of similar work previously
completed and the results/benefits achieved.
3) Names and telephone numbers of three client references.
