2025 Reunion Cook (Happy Camp)
The Karuk Tribe is seeking a contractor to provide full-service food preparation, serving, and cleanup for the 26th Annual Karuk Tribal Reunion on September 13, 2025, in Happy Camp, CA. Services include meals for up to 600 guests, required staffing, equipment, and facility cleanup, with proposals due August 29, 2025.
The Karuk Tribe seeks food service proposals for the 26th Annual Karuk Tribal Reunion, to be held Saturday, September 13th, 2025 at the Karuk Admin Complex, 64236 Second Avenue, Happy Camp, CA. The Tribe’s kitchen, complex, and multipurpose room will be available for food preparation and service.
Food must be prepared onsite. Contractors are responsible for recruiting helpers for preparation, serving, and cleaning. Access to the gymnasium and kitchen will be available for the full event weekend, including Friday.
Proposals should cover all time and tasks necessary for shopping, preparation, service, and related tasks. Service also includes providing paper goods, utensils, condiments, trash removal, spill cleanup, and assistance with setup and overall facility cleanup. No Styrofoam containers should be used; iced water in pitchers is preferred over bottled water; recycling is encouraged.
Service Requirements:
- Dinner: Planned for 600 guests.
- Saturday Snacks (11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.): Fresh fruit trays, vegetable trays with dips, cheese and cracker trays, water, unsweetened iced tea, coffee.
- Saturday Dinner (3:30 p.m.): Traditionally cooked salmon & acorn soup (provided separately), BBQ chicken, BBQ tri-tip, baked beans, salads, sides (fruit, green salads, vegetables, pasta, corn on the cob), vegetarian options, assorted fruit, sheet cakes, water, unsweetened iced tea, coffee.
- Sunday Breakfast (9:00 a.m., 100 guests): Breakfast burritos (veggie and meat), fruit, coffee, juice.
Food costs will be funded separately and should not be included in bids.
Proposal Requirements:
- Statement of qualifications, including relevant project history.
- Lump sum price with completed price page.
- Three client references with names and phone numbers.

Additional Notes:
Indian Preference applies per the Indian Preference Act of 1934 and the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO). Contracts over $2,500 are subject to a 2% TERO fee. A background check will be required per Tribal, State, and Federal requirements.
