GPRA/PHP Improvement Coordinator

The GPRA/PHP Improvement Coordinator will work in Happy Camp, Yreka, or Orleans under the direction of the Manager of HRSA, Compliance, and Accreditation. Primary responsibility is to improve the Government Performance Results Act/Modernization Act (GPRA) and Partnership measures selected by Indian Health Service (IHS) and Partnership Health Plan (PHP) on an annual basis. This includes collaboration with other staff members to raise Diabetic Audit and Childhood Immunization scores.

Summary

The GPRA/PHP Improvement Coordinator will work in Happy Camp, Yreka, or Orleans under the direction of the Manager of HRSA, Compliance, and Accreditation. Primary responsibility is to improve the Government Performance Results Act/Modernization Act (GPRA) and Partnership measures selected by Indian Health Service (IHS) and Partnership Health Plan (PHP) on an annual basis. This includes collaboration with other staff members to raise Diabetic Audit and Childhood Immunization scores.

Responsibilities

  1. Work with the CEO of Health and Human Services, Manager of HRSA, Compliance, and Accreditation, and the Public Health Nurse to develop an overall Karuk Tribal Health and Human Services Program (KTHHSP) and GPRA Improvement Plan.
  2. Work with Indian Health Service GPRA Coordinators at National and Area levels to ensure required GPRA indicators are accurately reported.
  3. Work with Partnership Health Plan (PHP) to ensure PHP measures and data are accurate.
  4. Cooperate with Medical Director, Dental Director, Social Services Program, Health Care Providers, IT Department, RPMS Site Manager, eClinicalWorks implementation team, CHR, and other staff to coordinate and implement the GPRA Improvement Plan.
  5. Use RPMS to retrieve lists of patients requiring GPRA interventions.
  6. Interface directly with patients to ensure they receive GPRA required services or document refusals, including performing or coordinating home visits when appropriate.
  7. Perform Performance Improvement projects and report accordingly.
  8. Cooperate with IT and Clinic Staff to improve data collection for GPRA, Immunization, Diabetic Audits, and PHP measures.
  9. Coordinate necessary training for KTHHSP staff related to GPRA Improvement Plan implementation.
  10. Assist staff to ensure GPRA data is electronically accessible and accurate for IHS reporting and audits.
  11. Provide monthly progress reports to the Accreditation Continuous Quality Improvement (ACQI) committee or other entities as requested.
  12. Be available for local and out-of-area travel as required for training and attend all required meetings and functions.
  13. Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Ability to work effectively with Native American people in culturally diverse environments and knowledge of health delivery services to Native communities.
  2. Leadership qualities including time management, communication skills, problem solving, decision making, work delegation, and organization.
  3. Ability to manage time well, work independently, and remain composed under stress.
  4. Effective communication skills for maintaining harmonious working relationships with employees, the public, and outside agencies.
  5. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  6. Knowledge of RPMS or eClinicalWorks systems.

Requirements

  1. Experience working in health services with at least two years in administration or support.
  2. Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and insurability by the Tribe’s insurance carrier.
  3. Adherence to confidentiality and HIPAA policies.
  4. Documentation of immunity to rubella or vaccination; Hepatitis B vaccination; annual TB test and flu vaccine.
  5. Must pass drug screening and criminal background check.
