People’s Center Advisory Committee

The Karuk Tribe is currently seeking interested Karuk Tribal Members, and others, to serve on the People’s Center Advisory Committee. The Committee meets monthly at the People’s Center in Happy Camp, California.

Committee Composition and Terms

• The People’s Center Advisory Committee is comprised of five members who serve three-year terms.
• Tribal Members, Descendants, and members of the public are encouraged to submit letters of interest to serve on this committee.

Duties

Committee members’ duties are to:

• Advise the People’s Center Coordinator regarding business operations and planning for the People’s Center.
• Advocate the role of the People’s Center with the Tribal Council and other entities.
• Review and advise regarding Center funding, programs, policies and procedures, and activities.
• Actively participate in the implementation of these activities.
• Assist in fundraising events.

Additional Information

The Karuk Tribe is seeking a geographically diverse Committee; however, the People’s Center is not able to provide meeting stipends at this time.
