Rain Rock Casino Ext Rendering Day


General Information:

The Karuk Tribe has received all necessary approvals and has developed construction design documents for a casino to be constructed in Yreka, CA. The project will be developed in two phases. Phase 1 consists of a 36,000 square-foot gaming facility with approximately 500 gaming machines, 8 table games, a 100-seat restaurant, and on-site parking. Phase 2 will add an 80-room hotel, additional parking, 20,000 additional square feet of gaming space, 300 gaming machines, and 8 table games. The Tribe will utilize union labor to the largest extent possible on this project.

3/31/2017 - The casino site has been excavated nearly to grade. Rain has delayed construction.

7/29/2016 - Groundbreaking Ceremony! To be held in Yreka, CA at 777 Sharps Rd., with Reception to follow at 1403 Katishraam Street.

6/6/2016 - Our Contractor (WHD California) mobilized their sub contractor (Meyers Earthwork), and began the earthwork phase of the construction project. See Photos below:

2/19/2016 - The Karuk Tribe is continuing to finalize financing for the casino.

1/11/2016 - The Karuk Tribes Watershed Crew began removing vegetation at the casino site in preperation for the site work.

2/12/2015 - Arbitration with Siskiyou County is decided, executing the County's Intergovernmental Agreement.

8/21/2014 - The Tribe and the City of Yreka complete negotiations for an Intergovernmental Agreement which provides for mitigation for potential off-reservation impacts as a result of the proposed casino.

8/19/2014 - The California State Assembly approves legislation ratifying the Tribe's class III gaming compact. The Senate approved legislation on August 14, 2014.

2/7/2014 - The Karuk Tribal Council adopted and certified a Final Tribal Environmental Impact Report (TEIR) for the Proposed Karuk Casino in Yreka California.

12/5/2013 - California's Governor Brown and the Karuk Tribe complete negotiations for a class III tribal gaming compact, see press release: Governor Approves Karuk Gaming Compact(Word)
